 Great replacement partAug 13, 2008
They work great, although I would have been OK with the original ceramic ones again. These look nice and bright and shiny clean until you use them the first time, and then they do not clean up to 'like new'. They are clean, but blackened sort of. The original black ceramic ones were easier to return to 'like new' after using.

While use of these turns them just as black as the original manufacturer grates, they are not degrading [corroding] at all and I don't expect they will. Parts for these grills are pricey and sometimes buying new is barely a larger output of $$$. I thought these would extend the life of my current gas grill and I do like these grates very much. I would look for this feature on my next grill!

The grates were shipped proptly, they arrived undamaged and are what I expected they should be.

Grill-masters: Upgrade your Weber grill with the stainless steel replacement grates. These stamped and welded grates are a nice improvement over the original porcelain finished grates. When the porcelain finally fails, the grates rust and weaken. These stainless steel grates are great! The solid bar stainless steel version were too expensive for what they do. I recommend replacing the Flavorizer Bars and Grates at the same time - you only have to clean the cook box once and the grill looks great with the shiny new stainless steel replacements!
